The Colony is to appoint a Board to report on the amount of furniture indispensable for furnishing several buildings. The furniture in 4 bedrooms and further apart was left by Sir J. Bowring, but not all of it might be made available for that purpose.
You are to report that in 2387, Cardwell did not deem it sufficient to warrant him in sanctioning the alteration of the Colonial Regulations respecting the furniture for private apartments in Fort Stonse. Practically, it is the charge of providing furniture for all apartments which are not used as public reception rooms, and generally, it is for an outgoing Governor to arrange for the supply of furniture upon his departure.
